NO CLASSES May 1st and 31st

How to Register for Classes:

Register in advance.  Classes are 2 months in duration and there are multiple ways to register.

Come in and see us, fax, or email your application.

Before the first day of your skating class, decide what to wear.

Sweatpants, a jacket or sweater, ordinary socks, and gloves are the recommended clothing.

A helmet is highly recommended for beginners.

Arrive at the rink at least thirty minutes before your scheduled group lesson time.

It takes time to get ready for figure skating.

You must allow time to put on your skates, your gloves, use the restroom, and find your instructor.

Don't arrive at the rink at the last minute, or you'll miss part of your skating class.

After you have checked in at the rink's front desk, go to the skate rental counter and get a pair of figure skates.

Make sure your skates fit properly and that you have tied your skates correctly.

Don't be afraid to ask someone who works at the rink for help with this.

Once you are ready, go near the ice rink's entry door and meet your instructor.

You may find you need some assistance walking to the ice!

Once you have learned the basic skills, you can continue in group lessons.

Supplement group lessons with private figure skating instruction.

Your instructor will teach you the figure skating basic skills.

Practice, practice, practice!

The only way to improve at figure skating is to practice.

Supplement every lesson with at least one hour of practice.

Remember, the more time you spend on the ice the better skater you will become.

Tips:
Skate rental is usually included in the cost of Learn-to-Skate classes, so it is not necessary to buy figure skates immediately.

Sweatpants, a jacket or sweater, ordinary socks, and gloves are the only clothing required.

A helmet or hat is optional. If you want to wear a skating or dance dress, that is fine, but don't forget gloves and a sweater.

Wear beige colored tights under a skating dress.

Make sure your hair is away from the face.
